La Cooperativa has received a new international honour for the quality of its extra virgin olive oil Les Cabanes (PDO Les Garrigues).
The Sant Isidre de Juncosa Agricultural Cooperative has won the silver medal in the category of Delicate Monovarietal Arbequina at the 7th edition of Olive Japan, International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition in Tokyo, Japan.
The contest —held from 3 to 5 April 2019— is one of the most important olive oil competitions in the world, gathering the highest standards of integrity and professionalism and awarding medals to the best oils in the world.
The jury received more than 700 samples of extra virgin olive oil from 24 different countries. To judge the quality of the oils presented, the competition invites 26 judges from the main olive oil-producing countries and Japan, following recommendations from the Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan.
A new recognition to add to those previously obtained in Paris, China, and Los Angeles and which showcases our emphasis on quality and innovation that forms part of the Cooperative’s work ethic. This award represents a big step for the visibility of our product in a country like Japan, which has one of the most important olive oil markets in the world.
