Les Cabanes, awarded in the Ministry of Agriculture’s Foods of Spain Prize: Best Extra Virgin Olive Oils, 2020-2021 season
The Juncosa Coop’s extra virgin olive oil has been recognised in the Ripe Fruity category
The Juncosa Coop’s extra virgin olive oil has been awarded in the Foods of Spain Prize: Best Extra Virgin Olive Oils, 2020-2021 season, by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food. The oil of the Sant Isidre Farm Coop of Juncosa has made it onto the podium in the Ripe Fruity category.
It is the first year the Juncosa Coop has participated in this contest, and to do so, it chose an extra virgin olive oil made in December.
The purpose of these awards is to revalidate high-quality virgin olive oils and stimulate producers to make and sell this food. This edition saw the presentation of a total of 64 oil samples, whose traceability and anonymity were guaranteed.
For the Juncosa Coop, it has been an honour to receive this distinction, as it recognises the quality of the extra virgin olive oil Les Cabanes and appreciates its attributes, while encouraging consumers become familiar with it.
Les Cabanes oil has already received 18 awards, including this one, in the last three years. A few days ago, it won third prize in the Ripe Fruity category in the International Olive Council (IOC)’s Mario Solinas contest and the gold medal at the Dubai Early Harvest Olive Oil Competition, and it finished the year 2020 in 7th place on the Extra Virgin Olive Oil World Ranking of Arbequina olive oils.
